Office Message Encryption (OME)

Copper Contributor

Sending email via OME with attached Office docs to recipients who are not on O365 (gmail, etc)...is it expected that they can't view/edit these docs when downloaded? Is it possible to configure OME so the docs can be downloaded and opened?

@LauraB Hi, you can use the Set-IRMConfiguration (ExchangePowerShell) | Microsoft Docs module to configure OME. As for your question, it sounds to me you'd like to change the DecryptAttachmentForEncryptOnly parameter

@ChristianJBergstrom Thanks for your reply. Made the change a few hours ago but still can't open the Office docs, maybe it just takes longer to gel.

I stand corrected. This does work if I use the native "encrypt only" option in Outlook, but not when I use our sensitivity label that applies OME. Thank you!
