Office 365 Problems opening Application Error 0xc0000142

Hi, I have tried opening my Office applications this morning and am receiving an EXE error (for any of the individual apps, Outlook, Word, Excel etc).  They were working fine yesterday, but I had not restarted since Saturday, when I had a McAfee review.  It starts saying Office is updating and then I get the error stating 'The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142) click OK to close the application'. I have a feeling I am going to need to uninstall and re-install (losing my Outlook configs for web mails accounts). Please advise if there is anything else I can do first.

@HelenaJBee  could you give a try to open the programs in Safe mode like let's take outlook as an example;


Run = outlook.exe /safe


open run and type above if that opens, close and open normal if works, try the same method for all your Office apps.
