Office 365 for IT Pros eBook

MVP

I had a post on the Yammer network to provide news about updates to the readers of the Office 365 for IT Pros eBook (see https://thoughtsofanidlemind.com/2016/06/02/introducing-office-365-for-it-pros-third-edition-now-ava...), so I'll create one here.

The latest update for the book is now dated July 20. The EDF and EPUB formats are available online now and the updated Kindle version will be available in Amazon soon.

Thanks to all who support us in this effort to document what's happening inside Office 365.

Thanks for the feedback.

Paul Cunningham has been changing his site over from exchangeserverpro.com to practical365.com and I suspect that this is one of the little "details" that could be improved upon. I have sent your feedback to Paul and no doubt some web/HTTP magic will happen shortly.

Tsk, tsk. ;)

Thanks Tony.

It's Paul's problem, not mine. I generate the book files. He makes sure that they are available to subscibers for download. But he is changing the site as we speak. We like keeping up-to-date.

It's on;y the 13th February and we've already updated Office 365 for IT Pros twice this month. New files now available. See http://wp.me/pSH8B-1kg for details about the changes!

Whopping update for Office 365 for IT Pros: Teams, new DLP, and more info on expandable archives. Updates now available. http://wp.me/pSH8B-1kg

I have not been posting here to remind people that we produce a weekly update. This one happens to be pretty large, so I was reminded to come back here and update. Looking at the way the book has developed, I see:

1st Edition (May 2015):           623 pages

2nd Edition (October 2015):   750 pages (note - we changed the margins to fit more onto a page)

3rd Edition (May 2016 on):     Originally 800 pages, now 954 pages

In effect, we have added a complete average-sized book to Office 365 for IT Pros since the third edition first appeared as we included coverage of new applications like Teams and StaffHub and expanded coverage of existing functionality. We have even removed some now-obsolete material, so the count of new pages is more likely closer to 180. All in all, creating and publishing this eBook has been a hell of an experience...

And we have the 4th Edition coming soon...

We've updated the Office 365 for IT Pros eBook (3rd Edition) again. The new files are dated 3 April 2017 and include information about recovery of Office 365 Groups, how to assign tasks to multiple people, and how to keep copies of messages sent by delegates. See http://wp.me/pSH8B-1kg for the change log.

A new update is posted and you can access the April 17 files online now.

We are working on the fourth edition and still plan on its release in early May. However, that's no reason to not update the third edition if we find interesting things to insert...

April 24 updates are now online for EPUB, PDF, and Kindle versions. See the change log at https://thoughtsofanidlemind.com/2016/06/09/office-365-for-it-pros-3rd-edition-list-of-updates-appli... for details of what we have updated.
