I have been going through lot / all documentation about MS alerts API link below.

There is tons of documentation about the API and how to use it. The fundamental query I have is I need to know is where is the documentation for Alerts? I need to know what are the alerts present? What is the meaning and description of the Alerts? When are these alerts triggered?
In a nutshell Alert listing or alert digest.
