Currently, if you modify or cancel a recurring Outlook invitation, Outlook will apply this to all (including past) occurrences. This is bad if you want to keep an archive of past invitations. In contrast, e.g. Google Calendar gives me the option to modify only future occurrences of the current invitation.
The current recurring invitation could be shortened to the last occurrence and all modifications could be applied to a new recurring invitation, copied from the previous invitation. This split could be done in the background by Outlook, giving the user the experience that only future occurrences will be modified.
