Microsoft 365 Apps Trusted Platform Module (TPM) error code 80090016 (solutions)

Hi all,

 

I want to share the solutions regarding the Trusted Platform Module Error code 80090016 when launching Microsoft 365 Desktop apps such as Outlook and the Azure Virtual Desktop Client.

 

Solution 1:

1. Windows Setting > Accounts > Access Work or school > Workplace or school account > Disconnect

2. Windows Setting > Accounts > Access Work or school > Workplace or school account > Connect again

 

Solution 2:

1. Reboot

2. Rename the folder "%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy" to "%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy.old"

3. Login to Windows. A clean Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin-folder should be created

4. Try to sign-in again to the Microsoft 365 Desktop apps
