M365 group-disable permissions for group Members to add other members

Hi, 

 

I created a M365 private group in the admin center.  In outlook, if I open the group, in the 'Members' tab, both group Owners and group Members have permissions to add new members.

Is there a way I can restrict the permissions so that only owners can add new members?

Were you actually able to add a member as another member?
Yes, I am currently a member in this group and I was able to add another member.


Hm, seems I'm able to reproduce this via OWA, Outlook and Teams work as expected though. I've pinged few folks on this, but best open a support case and report it.
Out of curiosity, does the account you're using have any admin permissions?
