How to remove an embedded footer

I am using a PPT template that I used for an earlier presentation.  The footer is appearing in the lower left hand corner and I cannot delete or change it (I really just want to change it).  I have tried all the suggested helps so far with no luck.  Suggestions?

@grogers This needs to be done in the slide master. So in your view menu, go to the slide master and change or remove the footer there. Hopefully the creator of the template did not lock it.
