So, COVID right? What a change that's had to our personal lives, and especially our working lives.

In the past 6 months I've worked with a lot of organisations that have had to change overnight, and in my role I've had to develop products that facilitated rapid change while trying not to discount good practices.

I've seen technology platforms overhauled in months that weren't even planned for yet.

I've seen culture change because it had no choice but to.

Some of this has been good, some not so good - and there are standout stories across the spectrum.

Extreme digital transformation has been a very good thing and It has been exciting to see people from within the business embrace this change as well as providing support in terms of funding and people into adoption and change.  But many times, I see that the focus has primarily been on the business (where it should be), but often the IT Pros are forgotten. 

 

A pattern I have seen a in the past few years through consulting and various jobs that the lack support for the IT Pro that can lead to a resistance to embrace Digital Transformation.  How can we, the IT Pros who have experience with Modern transformation help and encourage those who may have felt they have been left behind. 

 

If you feel this, what are the key areas you see as problematic to transformation.

Just like @Loryan Strant I've seen some good practices and some dreadful ones! I've had programs thrown out the window or sped up.  What did that look like?  Come chat with us in the table talk to find out.

 

To give you an idea, I've had many calls with organizations/managers (both professional and personal friends) asking how they can get employees up and running quickly or even 'track' their employees (now they are working from home) after they've been forced down extreme transformation.  It was interesting wording they were using 'track' or 'transform'.  Was there 'Trust'? Did they actually 'transform'? Did short/sharp training sessions work? What else could help learning? What mess has been left during the transformation? Was there a cultural shift to go with the transformation?  Overall, what worked/didn't work? So many things we can discuss during this table talk! What's been your experience? What happened to the Adoption programs in place, did they (or you) still do them?  

 

On a final note, remote working does not necessarily mean an organization has gone through digital transformation!
