Advice required on opening excel files on teams.

Hi

Ive worked out that if I have the teams app in my pc  I can open excel files using the desktop app.

When I log into office 365 and open the teams app it only gives me the option to automatically open in teams or browser.  Is there any way that I can get it to automatically open on the desktop app?
