365 Training

Not sure if I'm in the correct forum for this, but I've been an IT Tech for many years and I'm looking to get trained in Microsoft 365 to become a 365 Administrator (if that's a role) as a starting point to working and learning about the cloud. Any of you guy have any tips or good free / low cost training materials I could use. And how I can learn about the Admin console in a hands-on training environment.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Marc.

There are free learning paths from Microsoft for a lot of 365 things, from Exchange to Teams. A good starting point is their MS-100 exam criteria. Even if you don't sit the exam, the learning material is all fundamental stuff you'll need for 365 administration.

Towards the bottom of that page, you'll find a list of Learning Paths covering things like Azure AD (the backbone of managing users, devices, and apps).

You can also get a free M365 E5 licensense as a developer for labbing stuff out from here:

If reading through the Microsoft Learning Paths isn't your thing, there are good video training for the MS-100 on sites like Pluralsight which will also have a free trial.

Then when you've completed the MS-100 path, onto MS-101 :)

Thanks for your reply, I really appreciate it. Luckily I have free access through my employer to Pluralsight! I'll get on that.

I will take a good look at all the Learning paths that I'm interested in also!

The M365 Developer subscription looks awesome, exactly what I need to train and learn in an test environment.

Just one question, it's looking like I'm going to need to learn PowerShell, would you suggest doing this first, or just include it in my M365 training?

@365Marc Everyone has their own learning plans but if you're new to Microsoft 365, I would recommend getting familiar with the concepts & the services.

Once you're aware how things work, the same can be used with Powershell.
