Dynamic Group Membership For Existing groups

Iron Contributor

I know you can using Dynamic group membership on new groups but any word on being able to do this with existing groups?   The Membership type is not selectable.  I would like to be able to set up existing groups to by Dynamic by department as most of our O365 groups are departmental.   Assuming this is not available, what is the best way to migrate existing groups to a dynamic based group?

Yes, you can change an existing Office365 group to a dynamic! You do this in AAD portal:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/users-groups-roles/groups-change-type

Ah.. One of those inconsistent experiences with Microsoft. I was in the Device Management Portal (Intune).   There when you select groups, all of the options were greyed out (can not be changed). However, going to portal.azure.com then ADD and groups, I could change from Static to Dynamic.

Thanks.
