Is it possible to default the permissions for "everyone except external users" to Read instead of Edit for the SP Team Site that is provisioned with a Public Office 365 Group?
When a user creates a group they can cleary see that a Public group allows "anyone in your organization can see what's inside", but that's not the complete picture. Everyone except external users has Edit access to the SP Team Site, which also means they have Delete.
It's always better to give the lower permission at first (Read) and then it's up to the Owner to elevate to Edit if they so choose.
I think the wording around a Public group needs to change as well as the default permissions for everyone.
Any plans from MS to address these concerns?
