Calendar Appointments hidden from users diary

Does anyone know if its possible to stop appointments appearing in members diaries when added to the group diary.

I only need it in the diary for the group, not in all the members diaries too

When creating the appointment, If you do not specify People for the appointment and do not Send an invitation to the group, it should only appear in the group calendar.

Additionally if the users are "subscribed" to the group the appointments will appear in their inbox and potentially in their calendar
