Dear Office JS Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to propose an innovative feature that could significantly enhance the user experience and efficiency of the Microsoft Word Editor.
Feature Proposal: Idle Mode for Word Editor Screen
The core idea is to introduce an ‘Idle Mode’ for the Word Editor screen/view. This mode would temporarily suspend the rendering of changes made to the document, thereby improving performance during large-scale edits or updates.
Benefits:
Performance Improvement: During extensive document modifications, the constant rendering of changes can lead to performance issues. By idling the Word Editor screen, we can mitigate these issues and ensure a smoother user experience.
User Control: This feature puts control in the hands of the user, allowing them to decide when they want the changes to be rendered. This can be particularly useful when making numerous changes at once.
Efficiency: By rendering all changes at once, rather than individually, we can potentially reduce the overall processing time, leading to a more efficient editing process.
After the changes are made and the ‘Idle Mode’ is turned off, the Word Editor section/view would function as normal, rendering all the changes made during the ‘Idle Mode’.
We believe that this feature could be a valuable addition to the Office JS suite, enhancing the user experience and setting a new standard for document editing software.
Thank you for considering this proposal. We look forward to your feedback and are happy to provide further details or clarification if needed.
Best regards,
René
