Hi,

do you guys know why we get this error message, when we try Chat-Copilot in MS Teams?

* Product: M365 E5

* License "MS Copilot for Service Trial" assigned

* New Teams Version

* Windows 11 (23H2)

Thanks,
Rena

Do you have M365 Copilot Licenses? There is separate service within that for M365 Chat. I am not sure what MS Copilot for Service Trial is. Wondering if that is for Dynamics.

You need to have "Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365" license as your subscription to be able to use the Copilot Chat in Teams.

Currently this license doesnt have any trial as per my knowledge.

Thanks for your answer.
Not even our M365 license partner knew that you have to purchase a separate license.
According to MS support, this can only be purchased as an annual subscription and costs 30 €/month/user. So trying beforehand is not an option. 😞

this is correct! Currently no monthly subscription and no trial is available.
Hi,

this is not true. Copilot for Service does include Copilot for Microsoft 365.
Hi,

Gotcha. What I mean was in the Copilot for M365 there are separate services within the license. So for example we have M365 Copilot available to users but have disabled M365 chat service with in the license assignment.
I am having the same exactly setup with Rena, i.e. Copilot for Service trial.
However, Copilot button is not available in any office app (I have been trying for ages with Excel to make it work, but no luck). Is there a chance that maybe this trial license is limited and does not include actually the Copilot for M365?
Maybe it is a limitation of the Copilot for Service trial. I could imagine - as there are no trial editions for Copilot for Microsoft 365 available, that this could be the limitation here.
