How Copilot will work to Small and Medium Business?

I've just read that Copilot requires Microsoft E3 or E5, but a footnote says that it will be available to Small and Medium Bsuiness (SMB) with Microsoft 365 Business Standard or Premium.

I have the M365 Business Standard now, and I'd like to know how copilot will work with us, if it will be available for desktop apps or only online apps, and how it will work if the organizations does not have a Active Directory.
