Copilot for Word doesn´t find my Onedrive files

Copper Contributor

In Copilot for Word, I get the button to reference a file, but it does not find the file I am looking for in my own OneDrive and I know I have it because I see it in my OneDrive, that it exists and it is mine.

Its able to show me others files MRU  ,but not the one Im looking for .

I believe it only supports certain file types right now - Word + PPT.

If it is a word doc or PPT - Is the file very new? May not have run through the index yet? I've noticed with the file search you do have to know the file name. Could also try pasting in a share link.

The Word Desktop app will show only the last 3 files which may not be the files which we wanted to.

Use the Word Online from browser where you get option to "Browse files from cloud" and choose your file you want to reference to.

Alternatively you can try referencing the file name like this "Create a document from test.pdf"

@reachrj tested , in the heavy client only shows 3 last used files and in the web, you have the option to browse all your content

I will recommend the web environment to my users, at least for now.

thanks a lot

1) It does not display your last three files...that's incorrect.
2) Yes, Word Online does work the way it's intended to, but most people don't want to use the Online app vs the Desktop app, so that's pointless
3) Referencing the file name works sporadically...half the time it errors out, even if you reference the file name exactly and it's in OneDrive.

None of what you said is correct or working, so not sure why this answer got marked "Correct"

@reachrj I seem to be unable to access any of the Word files through Copilot because I use a private Outlook account. I am paying for the Copilot Professional. Should or should I not be able to create .pptx files from .docx files?
