Resources for Remote Workers

Remote working for IT Pros

It’s natural for IT workers to first ensure that frontline and supporting workers in an organization have a secure and productive way of performing their usual tasks remotely. After all, a reduction in the business’ ability to provide its products and services correlates pretty quickly to a drop in revenue, cashflow and profitability. Without this financial sustainability, the IT department has no organization to support.

For most of us, the month of May was one of continued work from home and adapting to this new norm.  There’s an abundant of great content below on Zero Trust and working remotely for enterprises.  As with every month’s newsletter I have italicized the articles that I would prioritize in reading.

Remote Working: Fewer people working on-premises doesn’t mean less risk to their identities

Almost everyone has had their work-life routines interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many people are working from home for the first time, leaving vast numbers of workplaces sitting empty. The Developer Activity Book for #RemoteDevLife

We wanted to bring a little fun (and geekiness) into your homes, so we created a Developer Activity Book. Happy Friday everyone! Brandon Wilson here posting on behalf of a new guest author, Sarath Madakasira. So, without further ado...Working from home has presented challenges in many areas and it is true for time synchronization on computers used at home to connect to work. More specifically, time synchronization on domain-joined computers used from home is potentially affected due to the challenges of remote connectivity. AD Domains and Forests were designed in an era of high-latency, low-bandwidth work networks and with security as a top criterion. These criteria extended to time synchronization within the Domains or Forests in the form of using NTP protocol enhanced with AD-based security. Time synchronization is also a requirement for Kerberos to function correctly in AD.
