onenote for win10 crashes when hdmi/vga cable is connected

Copper Contributor

I have a surface7.

Whenever I plug an hdmi or vga cable to the usb-c port (with the proper adapter) and start writing on onenote for windows 10, the program crashes (and sometimes the system as well with a blue screen..  MACHINE CHECK EXCEPTION is the error code..).

onenote is working fine if no external projector is connected. why is that?

no problem if I use Windows Journal (which I would like to avoid, if possible).

thanks!

for the time being I should have solved the problem by installing onenote 2016 (it was an almost impossible task to install it !!! wow....)
