On onedrive "open in onenote" opens as word doc

I am using onenote 2010, onedrive, win7, PC.  In onedrive, if I right click a onenote notebook and select "open in onenote" or "edit in onenote" it opens as though a MSword doc on my PC MS word progam. A message first appears with  file name and says from d.docs.live.net . If I instead select "open in onenote online" it does so with no problem, opening in onenote online. How do I get the onedrive notebook  to open  in my local onenote desktop and not as MSword doc?

Hi

It may be related with the version of OneNote that you have installed.
Also I had read that you shouldn't store your OneNote files in OneDrive. Se here:
