Ink to text problem with UK Keyboard selected

Brass Contributor

We're seeing a problem with OneNote desktop app on Windows 10.

We want to use the Pen & Paper (tablet) feature for ink to text. This icon doesn't appear until the touch keyboard is set to English (United States). We're running build 16.0.11328.20363 32-bit

Solution
@Calum Steen the handwriting recognition components are "Features on demand." If you check your language options in the settings app you should find optional components available to download > Handwriting, speech etc.

But... If you don't see these items there, you could have this issue:

Once you have that resolved, you'll have handwriting recognition working in OneNote for UK.

@Ola B Larsson yes, this was a problem for all non-US language packs. So if you have the issue, check the solution linked above.
