Weekly email digest SharePoint

I would like to send a weekly email based on the new posts (News) added to our Intranet.

We currently have the "send email digest" but this is not automated. 

The alternative is Flow, but I would expect an out the box solution, as this is a popular feature.

Are there any alternatives?

If you mean out of the box alternative, the answer is No. Build yourself alternatives are:
(1) Flow as you have well mentioned
(2) An Azure Function that runs on a schedule and send the digest
