Emails stop syncing on iPhone

We appear to be having issues with the Microsoft Authenticator app. A number of people have reported that their emails are not syncing on their phones (particularly with iPhone users on the built-in Mail app).

 

There is no automatic pop-up from the Authenticator when this issue occurs- users have to manually enter phone their settings to get their email to sync up by clicking "Enter Password" after which it signs them in automatically without having to put in their password. This seems to be a common thing, and was wondering if anyone had any idea on how to stop this from happening.
