In London we have been organising the Power Platform user groups for a while now. We have a great location in the Microsoft Reactor. I great group of people turning up every meeting and then Coronavirus hit us.
What do you do?
We had a number of options.
1. Cancel the event (and most likely the following user group meetings)
2. Postpone (this is the same as cancelling as we organise the meetings every 6 weeks and the Coronavirus is not going to go away)
3. Just continue as normal and accept a lower number of attendees.
We went for a variation of option 3.
We made our user group global, through Microsoft Teams.
To give you a bit of a taste of what we did ...
We started to say Thank you to Penny Coventry. Penny has been very important in the setup of all those user groups in the UK. Penny is now retiring, we had many videos playing telling us all those things Penny has done over the years.
Then in the second part a session Securing your plans for World Domination with Office 365 by Dylan Haynes.

Yes, the people on teams were lucky here as we could see the black screen!
Then all the attendees in London went for their Pizza's and the Teams attendees had their Virtual Pizza. We talked about:
* Working from home vs Office
* User groups in evenings or during the day
* Local user groups or global ones
In the second half of the evening Sancho Harker amazed everybody with his Power Apps skills.
That is a great evening full of excitement, isn't it?
Before the event we had 63 people register and only 20 people turned up. This is something that most user groups are currently seeing as less people travel. But we had 50 people join our Microsoft Teams session. So in short we had more people attend than register. A great user group success!
Thanks for sharing @Pieter Veenstra and thank you for powering through and adapting to the challenging situation! Really cool to see Teams worked for you to support virtual user groups. Virtual pizza needs to become a thing!
Also I thought @Penny Coventry wanted to retire!
