Unlicensed Microsoft 265 active users

Copper Contributor

I have two Unlicensed Microsoft 265 active users in my account and I want them to be able to use his email address to receive/send email messages, is this possible without having to pay for an Office 365 premium license for them...?

Hi @OmarMonroy

Yes, this is possible. You can do it in a couple of ways depending if you want to keep those active users in place.

#1
1. Assign licence to unlicensed users
2. Convert mailboxes to shared mailboxes in Exchange Admin Centre
3. Add permissions of those you want to send as/full access to the mailboxes
4. Now they are shared mailboxes remove the licences and they will just be shared mailboxes and you don’t have to pay for them

#2
1. Remove the active users in the 365 admin panel
2. Add 2 shared mailboxes with those addresses in Exchange Admin Centre
3. Add permissions of those you want to send as/full access to the mailbox

Both ways require the addresses to be on shared mailboxes to do what you need and not have to pay for it!

Hope that answers your question!

@Christopher HoardChris many thanks, it was a very clear explanation and worked nicely..!
