Resource mailboxes delegated to Shared Mailbox

Hail and Well Met!

  We have several Resource Mailboxes that we want to be managed by Shared Mailboxes.  Users have full access to the share mailboxes and when they try to manage requests to the resource the users get the error message from the Shared Mailbox.  Resource Mailboxes managed by individual users are fine. Is it possible to manage resource mailboxes with Shared Mailboxes?

Well you cannot login directly via a Shared mailbox, so the answer is no. While technically you can add the permissions, those are not transitive, i.e. if user X has permissions on a shared mailbox and the shared mailbox has permissions on the room mailbox, this doesn't mean that user X will have permissions on the shared mailbox.
