Renewing a soon to expire self-signed Exchange 2010 certificate

I have a single Exchange 2010 Client Access/Hub Transport server left over from  a migration to 2016. It basically does nothing that we know of. The Exchange self-signed certificate you get when you install Exchange will expire soon. Can't remember show I did this the last time. Can I just use the MMC with the Certificates snapin, right click the certificate, All Tasks --> Advanced Options --> Renew This Certificate with the Same Key? I know that last time I did this it was easy. I also have the PowerShell option but I prefer the MMC if it's doable.

Also, I have two self-signed certs both named Microsoft Exchange. They are both for Server Authentication and both expire on the same day. Someone has already renewed this certificate once because the server is 10 years old. I should have only one self-signed cert, correct?

Hi @Deleted

this should help you.

Anyway i suggest you get rid of the Exchange 2010 Server.

Start by stopping all Services for a few days. If nothing happens uninstall the Server.

Keeps you away from this
