Questions on Meeting room federation

Brass Contributor

Hi Experts,

One of our customer has below environment and raised the below query:

Tenant 1:

  • Only meeting room accounts are hosted with EXO

Tenant 2:

  • On-prem AD
  • AAD
  • Office 365 Tenant (Few mailboxes hosted)
  • No Hybrid

Tenant 3:

  • On-prem AD
  • Office 365 Tenant in Hybrid
  • Most of the mailboxes in on-prem
  • Few mailboxes are migrated to online.

Tenant 4:

  • On-prem AD
  • AAD
  • Office 365 Tenant (Few mailboxes hosted)
  • No Hybrid

Plan:

  • To provide the meeting room interoperability between tenants.
  • Meaning Tenant 2, Tenant 3, Tenant 4 users should be able to see detailed calendar/meeting information (Meeting Title, Time etc) of the meeting rooms hosted in Tenant 1
  • Tenant 2, Tenant 3, Tenant 4 users should be able to search and select the meeting rooms in Tenant 1 (Meaning it should be populated automatically from the GAL)

Questions:

How can we achieve things outlined in the above plan?

Any inputs would be of great help.

Free/busy info and meeting details can be shared via org-relationships between the companies, you would need a lot of these though (one for each tenant, in each tenant). There's no way to show external meeting rooms in the GAL though, you will have to create them as contacts.

@Vasil Michev - Thank you very much, Vasil for your inputs.

Please know that we have already set up organization relationship, 3 of them in the meeting room tenant, and one in each other tenant, pointing to meeting room tenant.

1. However, still, we can not quite see other thing than the legendary grey busy time when we add room in meeting booking.

2. We can not see title and details in meetings when we book, only grey area saying it is busy.

3. And for non Microsoft OS(android, iOS and MAC) we don’t see busy time at all, here we need to book meeting room by inviting the complete mail address for the meeting room, despite using Outlook for MAC and Android.

Do you have any inputs for this, Many thanks!
