Exchange full hybrid replace 2016 server with 2019

New Contributor

We are running an Exchange 2016 full hybrid set up with O365. We want to move to using an Exchange 2019 server for management and retire the 2016 server. Do we just install the 2019 server using the HCW in with a management license and then retire the 2016 server, or is there a different (better) process to use?

That's exactly how you do it.

Don't forget to:

  • Migrate Certificates / create new Certificate
  • Assign Certificate to SMTP / IIS
  • Change Destination on your Reverse Proxy
  • Change Destination on your Loadbalancer (if you have one)

Thanks. I was hoping it was that straightforward, but with Microsoft and Exchange, you can never tell.
Thanks, I'll read through that. I love assistants, guides and checklists.
