Exchange Domain Servers AD group query

Steel Contributor

Hi

Can someone tell what objects should be in the Exchange Domain Servers AD group and what is the purpose of this group? I cannot seem to find any information out there on the WWW.

I noticed in my environment that there are some user objects in there which is a concern to me.

Hi @Navishkar Sadheo,

Here you have the documentation about the groups that are created within the Exchange Preparation.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/plan-and-deploy/active-directory/ad-changes

Note: In that group should only have Exchange Servers computer objects.

@Nuno Silva Thank you so much for the quick response. The only reason I can think of as to why there would be user objects in this groups would be to access other mailboxes as this group has full access permissions to every mailbox in the organization. What are your thoughts?

Hi @Navishkar,

On that group should only have Exchange Servers computer objects. You could have issues if you have any other objects or users.
