Exchange 2019 sizing - processor

Steel Contributor

Hi there,

I’d like to utilise the Exchange Calculator, but confirm some details manually. With previous versions of Exchange I was able to work out the processor requirements using the method outlined here. This uses the SPECint_rate2006 results in formula to work out the available megacycles per server and per core. Unfortunately the newer processors/servers use the SPECint 2017 rate and not the SPECInt_rate2006, so I’d like to know if there is another formula I need to use. The formula outlined in the blog is:

((Target platform per-core score value)*(MHz per-core of baseline platform))/(Baseline per-core score value)

Where the target platform per-core score value is the SPECInt_rate2006 Result divided the number of cores. The other two values are constants provided in the linked blog.
