Exchange 2019 Management tools

Investigating going to a recipient management approach using an installation of the 2019 management tools only.  We are a 2016 hybrid with no mailboxes on Prem. The Hybrid connector is turned off.  How are the management tools maintained for security.  Do you just update using CU updates, updating the schema and tools as needed.  Has anyone had an negative experiences going this route.  I have not been able to find an gotchas so far.

The Security Posture is already minimized, as you have no running Services. But using the CU Updates would be best Practice anyway.

I've tried to go down that route with several Companys.

Most of the IAM Tools do not yet support it as of today. We ended up Installing Exchange 2019 and using Remote PowerShell. But the Server is no more exposed to the Internet (OWA / ECP).

So it mostly depends on your 3rd Party Tools.
