Hello all,

I have several files that would be extremely helpful to view zoomed out. However, the text becomes rather pixelated at around 65% zoom, and the numbers are entirely unreadable at about 50% (see pictures).

At first I was thinking this had something to do with scaling, but my monitor's settings are on default 100%. I also looked all throughout Excel's "View" options, but I couldn't find anything there either. On my 13" MacBook Pro I can zoom way out to under 10% and the fonts are still legible (though they are very tiny). So, I assume that this Windows machine should be able to do something similar, but I can't figure out what's wrong.

Thanks!

Solution

@RuthLee

Do the following on the Windows computer:

  • Click the Start button.
  • Type regedit and press Enter.
  • Navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Excel\Options
  • Select Edit > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
  • Name the new entry FontSub and click OK or press Enter.
  • Restart Excel.
