.xlsx workbook cells look black on second computer

Hi There

I created an excel workbook (.xlsx) with one data tab, one Sheet1 tab (empty), and one table tab (pivot table summary of data tab).

The desktop computer that created the file can open the file and edit the contents without apparent issues.

However, my laptop cannot open the file properly. When I open the file it looks fine (all cells on the screen are visible and all tabs are visible). However, as soon as I scroll through the cells all the cells are black (except for the initial cells that showed when I opened the file).

All of my other excel workbooks seem to be working well.

I found a workaround, where I opened the file and saved as .xls before scrolling. When I exited excel and opened the .xls it seems to be working fine and I believe all data is accounted for. Though, I cannot be certain. Anyone have this happen before? Anyone know how to fix the original file or check against the .xls to make sure nothing is missing?

I have tried:

Repair installing Office

Uninstalling and reinstalling Office
