workbook file size too big when i try to add calculated item in pivot table need help

I have a workbook file size of 6MB and when i try to create Pivot table and add calculated items (subtract one pivot column with other column) it is getting hanged and not able create calculate item field. Need help.

How about importing the data from this file into a blank file through Power Query and add the data into the Data Model and create the Pivot Table either from Power Pivot Window or directly insert a Pivot Table through Power Query Editor?

I tried this method suggested but now i am getting an error message as "there are too many records to complete this operation" and stuck here.

I didn't see this error for a long while, but "too many records.." usually doesn't mean your file is big. Couple of discussions on first page of search, but that's much more

Could be other reasons, perhaps depends on Excel version as well.
