Using Excel and/or VBA to keep track of how many items are processed

I am new to VBA but I need to make program that keeps track of the number of items that are processed through a certain point at my work. I have a table that is constantly refreshing to update and show where each item is at in the process. I want to know how I can keep track of how many items are being processed through one area of the process when items are being processed to and through that point.

Is there any way for you to post either the actual file (assuming it has no proprietary info in it) or a facsimile of it--using fake names, etc to preserve confidentiality? It's likely that what you're asking can be done quite readily, but without seeing how that file you are working with is arranged, it's next to impossible to give any really practical suggestions.
