Hello,
I am looking for a way to track seat locations in an office. Ideally I would have a an excel document that would link to a floor plan. If I change a the name of a person in a certain cell it would link to that part of the floor plan and update accordingly. I am not looking to make a floor plan just be able to overlay data on to existing floor plan.
Is there a tool in excel that allows you to assign a certain cell to show up on a part of a certain visual document?

Text boxes can be used to overlay text on a diagram.
The text box can have the fill and border properties set to none so that the diagram shows through. The text should be set in the formula bar as a formula that picks up the staff name from a cell reference or, better, a defined name.
If you wish to drag and drop the staff names within a list then the individual desk names should be related to the overall list using INDEX.
