Is it possible to provide methods by which an end user may interact with a spreadsheet app without simply typing into cells.  As background, the spreadsheets capture an analysis of survey results and then draw inferences based upon a set of user preferences.  In the image, the user is able to set the data by

1. Clicking on the apparent bar chart (selection change)

2. Notching to left or right using arrow keys (selection change)

3. By direct typing of the value

4. By clicking the reset button (on action method of the shape)

The sheets containing imported stats data and array formulas are very hidden and what I have shown is the user interface.

My problem is that controls, shape and even the means to modify defined names seem to be lacking.  Would Office Script offer a way forward (at least for me to upload formulas to the defined names) and any way of responding to user actions?  Maybe I just need to wait 10 years and try again?

Looks nice, but afraid yes, you have to wait or find some workarounds.

Thanks for the reply.  At least it seems I am not missing the obvious.  I wonder whether hyperlinks could be made to provide interactivity, at least they are web technology?
