unwanted linked identical cell values in a column

The values of 3 adjoining vertical cells in each column are inexplicably linked together. A thin blue line is noted around the three cells. When I try to delete the "greyed out" formula in the two lower adjoining cells, I am unable to do so. Any ideas?
