Here is our issue
We are importing 2 sets of data into a new CRM (Hubspot)
Excel 1: Contacts
Excel 2: Deals
The linking field is currently a cell containing [First name & Last name]
I would like to assign a unique number to each contact in a new column (1-40,000 for example)
Then identify and assign the duplicate deals with that unique contact number.
So for example If counting contacts in Alphabetical order
Jain Smith Unique Contact number = 100
When excel applies the numbers the deals excel it will only assign one number to each contact name rather than to each deal..
In this example assuming...
the deal list is in alphabetical order matching the contact list
Jane smith is contact number 100
Jane smith has 4 deals that should match her contact
Excel will assign the number 100 to all 4 deals for Jane Smith
Then the next name on the deal list gets a new number of 101 for as many deals as that contact might have and so on
Hopefully the above makes sense
Any information on how to get excel to do this would he greatly appreciated
