Template with macros? (macros print certain sheets only)

Copper Contributor

I am thinking I can't have both features but here is my issue.

I have created a workbook that contains sheets that pull data from the first sheet and populates 10 other sheets with pieces of that info.

I created two VBA buttons with macros to print. One prints 7 of 10 worksheets and the other prints the remaining 3 of 10 sheets.

Right now everything works great. All my formulas and the two buttons.

However inexperienced or distracted workers tend to open the file and immediately start entering data which saves over the MASTER_REPORT file instead of saving immediately as DATE_MASTER_REPORT to denote that day's work.

I looked for and found that I can save as a template, which I am assuming works that same as in Adobe Illustrator opening the file as a new file keeping the original intact.

However, when I try to save as a template, I get an error saying I can not us a VB feature in a non-macro workbook.
Is there a way to make a template that would include a way to print certain sheets as simply as a macro button? I am aware that you can manually tell excel to print only certain selected sheets, but I really would prefer to have the two big user bulletproof buttons labeled PRINT NOW and PRINT AT END OF SHIFT....if you get my drift.

Any possible way would be appreciated.

thanking you in advance for your time.

Save as an Excel Macro-Enabled Template (*.xltm):

I am not sure what happened but I couldn't sign into this account again to say thanks. Man if it was a snake it would have bit me. I feel like a fool. Thanks so much for your help. Best of both worlds!
