Tables vs Drop-Down boxes

Copper Contributor

I converted a long list of cities to a table and searching by the letters in a cities' name works fine.  I converted the list to a drop-down window and searching by name doesn't bring up those cities.

What is the value of a dropdown box?  When should it be preferred over a table?

I can’t delete the drop down box.  I can delete the content with the <Delete> key but the box is quite stubborn.  Thanks!

Search in Table and selection from drop-down box are different things. Searchable drop-down so far is available only for Excel for the web.

@SergeiBaklan thanks for the answer.
