SUM total values expressed for populated cells

Simple formula required to populate the number of populated cells below, expressed as 1,2,3 etc.. per populated cell- can anyone help?

With that brief description, all we can do is suggest possibilities. Look at the COUNT and COUNTA functions, possibly COUNTIF... if none of those helps, maybe you could come back with a more complete description, even (ideally) a copy of the spreadsheet in which you want this counting to take place.
