Subtracting years

I am trying to subtract years from dates in excel and for some reason I keep getting #NUM error. I am using this formula: =DATE(YEAR(A2-2,MONTH(A2),DAY(A2))

Please help!

=DATE(YEAR(A2)-2,MONTH(A2),DAY(A2))

There is only one " ) " missing in the formula.
