Hello everyone,
I have a set of data that is the results of physical performance tests. In the data, we have numbers that are how each person performed in the test. We also have text noting individuals that were injured at the time and therefore couldn't test.

When I sort the data in descending order, the cells containing "inj." are always before the highest numerical value. My question is, how does excel evaluate the cells containing "inj." in this type of instance. My internet searches have only yielded results for mixed numbers and text in the same cells. I'm mainly asking for my own edification.

In Excel when compare any text is more than any number. You may do simple test: in A1 any text, in B1 any number and in C1 =A1>B1
Result is TRUE
