Hello,
I`m new here because no one of my workmates can help me in excel. Normaly I ask the AI for help, but in this subject it cant help me, so I hope, anyone is cleverer than the AI. Here ist the summary of the conversation from the AI perspective:
The user has created a table in Excel (latest version) with last names in column 2 and first names in column 3 on one worksheet. On another worksheet, they have created a similar table with the same last names in column 2 and first names in column 3 in the same order, by linking the two tables. However, when they add a new name to the table on the first worksheet and sort it, the table on the second worksheet also gets sorted, but the data in columns 3 and onwards, which correspond to the respective names, do not get sorted and remain in their original positions, resulting in incorrect values assigned to the names. They want to know if there is a way to link the tables in such a way that the data also gets sorted correctly.
I suggested using the "VLOOKUP" function in Excel to link the tables, but the user mentioned that the data in columns 3 and onwards on the second worksheet are different from the corresponding columns on the first worksheet, so they cannot be linked using "VLOOKUP".
I then suggested using the "INDEX" and "MATCH" functions to link the data in columns 3 and onwards on the second worksheet with the corresponding names. However, the user mentioned that this solution doesn't work for them either, as they want the data in those columns on the second worksheet to be sorted along with the names.
I explained that there is no direct way to link the tables in such a way that the rows on the second worksheet automatically get sorted when the names on the first worksheet are changed. The user would need to manually sort the data on the second worksheet based on the sorting on the first worksheet.
If the user wants, I can provide this summary in English for them to post in a forum to see if there might be any other solutions they are not aware of.
That was the summary of conversation with the AI. Hopefully there is a way..
Thanks for your time and reading the whole text. VBA is not a solution for me, because I want to use the sheet with an tablet and smartphone.

I don't think there is a solution for this. Why do you want the data on two different worksheets? I'd combine ALL data on one sheet, then use the second sheet to link to a part of the data.
