(Solved) Auto formating chart series after reload

Copper Contributor

Hello,

In my sheets, I have charts with serie formulas refering to names , themselves being dynamic (with if fuctions to trigger certain data inside the chart). The issue is that when I save and reopen the file, the series in the chart gets converted to static series, breaking the link to the name (  so for example "=sheet1!serie" become a serie like this "={3464\3845\3087\2887\3507\3581\5225\5383\6044\6332\6635\7569\6839\6932\7747\7699\7803\7910\7882\7985\7906\7810\7807\8325\8678\8880\9367\9079\7882\7686\7983\8242\8329\8389\7823\7688\7635\7551\7925\8149\8793\9572\9740\10157\9724\9043\8033\8131\8290\7771\7845\7863\7952\9599\7642\6002\5719\5671\5858\5854\6343\6086\5228\5121\5505\4978\4862\5209\5145\5392\5304\5443\5313\4845}").

Is there an option to check or uncheck to avoid these auto-editings ?

Thanks for reading,

Clem

Check under File/Options/Advanced/When calculating this workbook - update links to other docs and Save external link values. Check under Formulas that Auto is set. Review all the Options to ensure s/s calculates dynamically.
Hi and thanks for your answer,

I've unchecked in the advanced options the "update links to other docs" and "save external link values", and It has solved the issue, thank you.
But I'm wondering, could these modifications cause other problems to appear ? On this file, I'll be making only dynamic charts, without macros (for compatibility issues with other platforms).
YW. These options are not related to macros. It will keep your doc dynamic. If your source data comes from another file, you need this turned on. If source is within the doc, you don't need it on. If someone moves the source doc you will get errors in your cells because it does not exist in that location. I don't think the compatibility will be affected (again, nothing w macros)

Okay, as every data is from the same doc, It'll be fine.

Thanks for the help,
