Scatter Graph not recognizing the Data Column correctly

The Scatter Graph is not recognizing my Date format in Graph.

If I change my Date Column to another format it is recognized but not as a Date Format.

Below is screen shot.

Please assist look into this.

Could you attach a small sample workbook demonstrating the problem (without sensitive data), or if that is not possible, make it available through OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox or similar?

Thanks. If you click on the chart, then click Select Data on the Chart Design tab of the ribbon, you can edit each of the series. This is what you get for Series 1:

The X values have not been defined at all, and the Y values have been set to K1:K19, a range that include a text value in A1, dates in K2:K15 and blanks in K16:K19. That is not suitable for an XY scatter chart.

Series 2 doesn't have X values either, and only one Y value.

Series 3, finally, is like Series 1:

Delete Series 2 and Series 3, and make Series 1 look like this:

The chart will then look OK:

Thank you... but I'm confused as to what caused the error.  Especially because I copied the data, pasted it unformatted into a new sheet, and then reformatted it and still got the error.  Now I'm working with a larger data set and it's still doing it.  I've try to follow your steps on my new chart but I guess I'm an idiot and still can't figure it out.     Jessamine Co_market history_2012 to 2023.xlsx

An XY Scatter chart can only work with purely numeric data. Here what I see when I click Select Data, then Edit:

You have included H1 and D1 in the ranges, but those cells contain text values. The ranges should begin in row 2:

The chart will then display dates:
