Restore worksheet not working.

Copper Contributor

Please help.  I copied and pasted one cell's data to another cell.  Excel stopped responding, and I had to close the program. When I opened the file, one cell had been pasted on my whole worksheet (over 1400 rows of data).  The only version I see is this one, which was only 30 minutes.  No other version shows up.

It hasn't been an hour yet.  I don't know what to do.. please help

There are a few methods you can try to recover your data.

One method is to use the File History feature in Windows if you have it enabled.

You can go to Control Panel, choose System and Security, then click on File History.

From there, click on Restore personal files on the left menu and find your Excel file.

Choose it and press the green Recycle button to recover it.

Another method is to try recovering an unsaved Excel file after a crash or restart.

You can do this by opening Microsoft Excel and going to Open > Recent.

Then click on Recover Unsaved Workbooks under the Workbooks section.

Excel will show you a list of unsaved files, both overwritten and never saved ones.

Double-click on the file you want to recover and then save it .

If these methods don’t work for you, there are other options available such as repairing a corrupted workbook or using external references to link to the corrupted workbook .

I hope this helps!
